Testimony

Testimony
What does it mean?
It seems to be a big thing in
Christianity.
But what is it exactly?
People tend to think it's something bad
you've done and then turned to Christ and
everything changed or you were a christian
then strayed from the Lord, did some bad
things then now you're back on the right path.
But this is not the case.
Some people believe the to have a testimony
you have to do something "bad".
This is not true.
A testimony is your life.
The story of your life.
It tells your story.
It can be how you came to the
Lord.
It can show your struggles in Life,
what you've gone through.
It can be anything as long as it is
your story,
your testimony.

Confusion can be....

Confusion can be…well confusing.
There isn't really anyway around it.
There will always be confusion.
That is because we don't know everything.
We never have, we never will.
No matter how old we get or what we go through,
we will always be confused.
School, Work, People.
There is confusion everywhere.
I think one of the biggest confusions is in people.
Everyone is different, Everyone responds differently.
You never know what they are thinking
or what they really feel.
Therefore we get confused when they don't do
what we expected them to do,
because it's not what we would do.
We get confused by what people tell us.
One person may tell us one thing,
when another person is telling us another thing.
One could be a lie, they both could be lies,
or they both could be true.
That is what is confusing.
Everyones perspective is different.
The thing that is most confusing is confusion itself.
We will never truly figure it out.
It is here now, it has always been here,
it will always be here.
There is no way around it.
Confusion is everywhere.

Listen, then Speak

Although I am a free man and not anyone’s slave, I have made myself a slave to everyone, in order to win more people. To the Jews I became like a Jew, to win Jews; to those under the law, like one under the law — though I myself am not under the law — to win those under the law. To those who are without that law, like one without the law — not being without God’s law but within Christ’s law — to win those without the law.  To the weak I became weak, in order to win the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that I may by every possible means save some. Now I do all this because of the gospel, so I may become a partner in its benefits.1 Corinthians 9:19-23

There is a saying, I don't remember who it was by but it says, "Preach the gospel always and sometimes speak". This means listen, then share your testimony. You are probably thinking "but I don't have a testimony." Everyone has a testimony, figure out what yours is, then familiarize yourself with it. Your testimony fuels your worship. After you figure out your testimony, go out and connect with people, listen to their story and share yours. Yes, you might be nervous, afraid, scared, or etc... But in the words of Pastor Trevor "Do it afraid, Do it scared, Just do it!" When you share your testimony and share what God has done in your life that makes people think 'if God can do it for them, then He can do it for me.'

God so loved the world that He left his world, He stepped out of His comfort zone and stepped into our world. In this way we need to step out of our comfort zone and into the worlds of others to be able to spread the word (Bible) with others. Are you earning the right to speak into people, when you haven't even listened to why they are where they are in life? We need to connect with people not just share, get to know them, let them know that someone cares. This Generation is looking for something different. They are looking for hope and love. They want to connect with people, they want to tell their story not just listen to everyone else's. People like to talk, listen to them, ask them what their hopes and dreams are. Everyone has a story, ask them what their story is. Be quick to listen and slow to speak.

A little bit about myself.

Dear Reader,

I am a crazy 15 year old girl with a heart fot the Lord. I am the third child out of 4 and the only girl. There is a 5 year difference between me and my older brother, so I am the oldest child at home, but the older boys live close so they come home often. I tend to be girly at times but I would much rather go mudding or sit around a bonfire than go to the mall or hang out at the beach. I love to Act, I have done about 10 plays since I was 11, right now I am even helping direct a play called Slipperz (or 12 Dancing Princesses) for third through sixth graders. My favorite sport is Soccer, all of my brothers, my dad, and I play, although I havent been able to play since 8th grade. My favorite movie would probably be Alice in Wonderland, because it is so different and colorful like my life, oh and crazy.

K umm lets see.... I am homeschooled. I like reading in portions. I like drawing crazy odd ball pictures, like spirals coming out of hearts. I like almost any food other than olives, mushrooms, sauerkraut, and sushi, other than that there isn't that much that I won't eat, I think it's the fact that I grew up with mostly guys. At the moment my favorite food is a Half-Pound Potato Burrito from Taco-Bell. My favorite drinks are Dr.pepper and Chocolate Chip Frappes from McDonalds.

My life isn't filled with too much drama, but my brothers tend to make for that. Right now my life consists of bible studies, acting/directing, and hanging out with the neighbors who are like siblings to me (that I get along with), well and school. This coming up weekend I am going to a youth conference in Walla Walla called Love Encounter, with my youth group. I am excited to see what God has in store for me and my whole youth group.

         Signing off,
